Proyecdanza & Art Space invite you to join us for our Salsa & Tango summer workshops 2009 taught by the renowed Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer CarolinaJaurena www.carolinadancer.com at our new studio, where you can learn the basics, styling, footwork and more of the Salsa & Tango Styles with individualized attention. Beginners, intermediate and advanced are welcome.

Influenced by her parents, Carolina was bound at an early age to follow a desire to perform. Under the guidance of some of the most recognized names in dance she has specialized in Argentine Tango along with her formal training in ballet, Latin Ballroom, Salsa and Flamenco. Carolina's credits include Tango & Tango at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Tango Fantastico at the Bellearyre Music Festival, Tangos and Dances of South America at the Purchase Performing Arts Center, The 10th Annual Orlando International Fringe Festival in Orlando, Florida and  performances in NYC with Leonardo Suarez Paz's "Cuartetango". She has been invited to perform and teach at several Dance Festivals including; The Colorado Dance Festival, The D.C. Tango Festival, The Boston Tango Festival, and the "Tango Norte? 2007 Stockholm Tango Festival.  She was a featured dancer, singer and actress in the Two River Theatre Company production of Blood Wedding and performed in the Buenos Aires month celebration at the World Financial Center. The height of her professional career is marked by her role as a primary dancer in the feature film Random Hearts directed by Sidney Pollack. She has performed at the Orchestra and Chambers Music Festival at Penn State University, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Teatro Si and the Thalia Spanish Theatre. Carolina also performed on broadway at Town Hall?s not Just Jazz series ?Tangos for la Milonga? with Romulo Larrea?s Ensemble and traveled to Europe to perform with the Sudwestfalen Philarmonic at the Symphonic Tango night in Hilchenbach-Lutzel, Germany. Other performances include "Tango Summit" with the Panamerican Symphony Orchestra, ?Dreams? a Tango Extravaganza, and "100 años de tango, de Villoldo a Piazzolla" along with Fabian Peralta in Montevideo's prestigious Solis Theatre. She has appeared on several Television programs including Fox 5 ?Good Day New York? with Penny Crone, "Today in NY" on NBC, and was first prize winner on the popular program Sábado Gigante on Univision. Most recently Carolina was invited to teach at Nashville Tango and performed with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra in Tennessee, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra .

Bajo la influencia de sus padres, Carolina empezo a bailar desde en una edad muy temprana. Entregandose a su deseo y passion por el baile empezo a estudiar  bajo la guía y direccion de algunos de los más reconocidos nombres de la danza en el mundo.  Se especializa en el Tango argentino a su vez, desarrolla y completa su formación profesional en el ballet, Salsa y el Flamenco. Los créditos de Carolina incluyen Tango & Tango en Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, el Tango Fantastico en el festival de música de Bellearyre, ?Tangos y Bailes de Sudamérica? en el Purchase Performance Art Center, y su papel como instructora de tango y salsa en el ?Colorado Dance Festival? en Boulder, Colorado. Formo parte de la obra Bodas de Sangre producido por la Compañía del Teatro Two River Theatre como bailarina, actriz y cantante. A su vez formo parte de la celebración del mes de Buenos Aires en el World Financial Center.  Uno de los puntos destacados de su carrera profesional fue marcada por su papel como bailarína principal en la pelicula Random Hearts dirigida por Sidney Pollack. El mismo año Carolina fue invitada a formar parte de la Celebración del mes Hispano en Pfizer Central Research y tambien fue invitada al Orlando International Fringe Festival en Orlando, Florida. Otras precentaciones importantes incluyen; El Orchestra and Chambers Music Festival at Penn State University, el Museo del Arte de Cleveland, Teatro Si y el Teatro Thalia.  Este año, Carolina tuvo el privilegio de presentarse en Broadway en el conocido teatro Town Hall en el show Tangos para la Milonga con el Conjunto de Romulo Larrea, tambien viajo a europa para presentarse junto a la Philarmonica Sudwestfalen en el show Synfonic Tango night en Hilchenbach-Lutzel, Alemania. Se presenta en los shows de televisión ?Good Day New York? con Penny Crone, "Today in NY", y se le otorga el primer premio de la competencia ?A bailar? del famoso show de television Sabado Gigante . Forma parte de ?Dreams? a Tango Extravaganza show realizado en el Wilkins Theatre, y se presenta en el Teatro Solis de Montevideo en el show "100 años de tango, de Villoldo a Piazzolla". Carolina tambien se presenta regularmente con el Pan American Symphony Orchestra en Washington D.C. y este año formo parte del Boston Tango Festival. Cabe destacar a lo largo de estos años el desarrollo y dedicacion de Carolina como docente tanto con adultos como con niños. Recientemente, Carolina fue invitada a "Nashville Tango" para hacer una serie de workshops y a su vez se presento junto al Nashville Chamber Orchestra en Tennesse. Su presentacion mas reciente incluye ?Tango Norte? El Festival de Tango de Estocolmo.
